ALPINA is an independent automobile manufacturer in Germany, renowned for specializing in the modification of BMW vehicles. Although commonly regarded as a BMW tuning workshop, ALPINA is actually certified as a vehicle manufacturer by TÜV. ALPINA's products are famous for their outstanding performance and personalized configurations, and they can almost modify the entire BMW product line, from the 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series to the 6 Series and Z4, among others.
The cooperation between ALPINA and BMW began with car racing, and the engine parts provided by ALPINA significantly enhanced the performance of BMW's racing cars. In 1970, BMW racing cars equipped with ALPINA parts won championships in several well-known events, thereby increasing the visibility of the ALPINA brand. On March 10, 2022, the BMW Group announced the acquisition of ALPINA, making it an official brand under BMW.
ALPINA's products have been specially optimized in detail. For example, the ALPINA B4 Gran Coupe is based on the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, but it features unique designs such as the ALPINA badge, 20-inch wheels, and a quad exhaust system. Inside, the BMW logo is replaced with the ALPINA emblem, highlighting its special status. In terms of power, it is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine, with a maximum power output of 364 kW, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, and reaching a top speed of 310 km/h.
In 2016, ALPINA officially entered the Chinese market and introduced the ALPINA B4 BITURBO as its first model. ALPINA adopts a sales model in cooperation with BMW authorized dealers, with the first batch of authorized dealers located in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, and plans to add cooperation in Chengdu. The addition of ALPINA provides domestic consumers and collectors with a brand new choice of niche automobile brands.
