FAW Jilin Daewoo is a collaborative venture between the Japanese car manufacturer Daewoo Industrial Co., Ltd. and China FAW Group. In 2005, the two parties signed a cooperation agreement in Jilin City, Jilin Province, to jointly produce and sell Daewoo-branded small multi-purpose passenger vehicles in Jilin. FAW Jilin Automobile Co., Ltd., as a wholly-owned subsidiary of FAW Group, focuses on the production of small passenger cars and commercial vehicles. In 2007, Daewoo Industrial Co., Ltd. and FAW Jilin Automobile Co., Ltd. jointly announced the domestic launch of Daewoo's global strategic model, XENIA.
FAW Jilin Automobile Co., Ltd. has a history of over 40 years in car manufacturing, with a cumulative production and sales volume of 1.57 million vehicles, and its products are exported to more than 70 countries and regions across Asia, the Americas, Africa, and Europe. FAW Jilin Daewoo Automobile (Jilin) Body Parts Co., Ltd. is a joint venture established by both parties for the manufacturing of car body parts. Through this cooperation, FAW Jilin has introduced Daewoo's small passenger car products, enhancing its competitiveness in the small car market.
