FAW Jilin Automobile Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China FAW Group Corporation (FAW), focusing on the production of small passenger cars and commercial vehicles. The predecessor of the company was FAW Jilin Light Duty Vehicle Factory, which was originally established in 1983 as a local enterprise in Jilin City and is known as the birthplace of China's mini-cars. In 1991, FAW Jilin Light Duty Vehicle Factory was officially merged into China FAW and became a directly-affiliated enterprise, now a wholly-owned subsidiary of China FAW. FAW Jilin has the production capacity of five major processes: "stamping, welding, painting, final assembly, and resin," and possesses certain mold manufacturing capabilities and modification and trial production capabilities. The company's main products include the "FAW Jiabao" series of mini cars and the "FAW Seniya" series of multi-purpose vehicles, among other platform products. FAW Jilin is committed to becoming an important base for China FAW's independent small commercial passenger car business and ensures the development and successful launch of new products during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.
