LEAHEAD, with the English name "LEAHEAD," is an independent brand under GAC Toyota, established in 2015. This brand mainly focuses on the development of new energy vehicle models, and its first model is a pure electric vehicle, planned to be launched in 2015. The creation of the LEAHEAD brand is part of GAC Toyota's global strategy, aiming to enhance local R&D capabilities, product appeal, and sales volume.
The LEAHEAD brand's logo is uniquely designed, consisting of a special hexagonal shield shape, with the shield interior covered by a variety of geometric shapes, showing a sense of fashion and design. The currently known product under the brand is the LEAHEAD i1, which is a pure electric vehicle that appeared as a concept car at the Shanghai Auto Show, focusing on the compact market. The LEAHEAD i1 is built on the Yaris platform, emphasizing practicality in appearance, interior, and power.
Although the LEAHEAD brand has been established for many years, there is no news of mass production except for the concept car released at the auto show. The LEAHEAD i1's three-electric system includes a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a lithium iron phosphate battery pack module, with a range of 128 kilometers and a top speed of 130 kilometers per hour. This car's EV system has undergone multiple rounds of testing, ensuring safety. The birth of the LEAHEAD brand and product development reflect GAC Toyota's active exploration and commitment to the field of electric vehicles.
