Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd., commonly referred to as NAC, is one of the backbone enterprises in the large-scale automobile production industry in China. NAC boasts a range of complete vehicle brands including Yuejin, Iveco, and MG Rover, with an annual comprehensive production capacity of 400,000 vehicles. In addition to complete vehicle production, NAC also has enterprises engaged in casting, forging, equipment, and automotive parts, as well as specialized research institutes, technical centers, and a national-level automobile quality supervision, inspection, and appraisal testing institute.
The history of NAC dates back to 1947, and in 1958, it successfully manufactured China's first light-duty truck, named Yuejin. In 1995, Nanjing Automobile Manufacturing Factory was renamed to Yuejin Automobile Group Corporation. In 2003, the official unveiling of Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd. marked the formal transfer of NAC to the management of Jiangsu Province. In 2005, NAC successfully acquired the assets of the British MG Rover and Powertrain Company, seeking new opportunities for NAC's revival and future success. In 2007, NAC cooperated with SAIC Motor (Shanghai Automobile Group) and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of SAIC Group. Relying on the strengths of SAIC, NAC is looking forward to a more long-term, in-depth, and comprehensive development in the future.
